Research aim
The mission of the clinical pharmacy program is to explain, predict and improve patients’ response to pharmacotherapeutic treatment using clinical pharmacological and clinical pharmacoepidemiological approaches.
About us
The clinical pharmacy program focuses on relationships between medicines, biomarkers and clinical outcomes in patients with diseases and conditions related to the immune system (oncology, pediatric rheumatology, stem cell transplantations), geriatrics, neuropsychiatry, cardiology, intensive care and hematology. For this purpose, we utilize clinical pharmacological (e.g. PK/PD), pharmacogenetic, clinical pharmacoepidemiological and bio-analytic methods and techniques. In addition, our research is aimed at sustainable and (cost)efficient use of extremely expensive new medicines (including Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products, ATMPs) and didactic quality of clinical residency programs in the continuously adapting health care society. Our research is inspired by knowledge gaps in clinical patient care and we hope to close these gaps by translation and implementation of our results in daily practice.
