Research aim

To improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases and to establish an international research infrastructure for a rapid scientific response in the face of a new infectious disease threat.

About us

This research group has a focus on designing and executing clinical trials for quantifying the effects of preventative interventions, diagnostic approaches and treatment of infections, with an emphasis on acute respiratory tract infections and infections caused by antibiotic resistant pathogens. Through extensive international collaboration we contribute to preparing society for a rapid clinical research response in case of an emerging infectious diseases threat. We aim to innovate trial designs, for instance by using adaptive platforms with response-adaptive randomization modalities. Group members are closely aligned with the European Clinical Research Alliance on Infectious Diseases (Ecraid).
