About us

Globally obstetric care is at a crossroads, facing issues of accessibility, affordability, and sustainability. Digital transformation offers a promising solution, enabling a shift from hospital-based to home-based high-risk pregnancy care whenever feasible. Recent advancements in key enabling technologies, including home-monitoring devices for maternal and fetal health plus data platforms, provide the basis for this transformation.

Our research group is acknowledged for pioneering in digital transformation of obstetric care. We have developed the SAFE@home platform offering safe home monitoring of mothers and fetuses at risk for cardiovascular complications in pregnancy. We have demonstrated that our HOTEL home monitoring strategy as alternative for hospital admission is safe, cost-effective and improves patients’ satisfaction. Our mission is to enable and digital transformation of obstetric care without loss of quality of care but by improving maternal and fetal outcomes. We will do so by upscaling our knowledge and hybrid care (inter)nationally and by developing new health care solutions, data-driven clinical support tools within a value-based approach.

Our multidisciplinary team consist of obstetricians, neonatologist, data-scientists, health-technology experts, economic experts, implementation experts and closely collaborates with patient organizations, health policy makers and value-based health care experts.
