Research aim
This group assesses the impact of vaccine implementation and generates evidence to inform vaccine policymaking.
About us
Vaccination programs serve a dual goal of protecting both individual and population health. For optimal health promotion, they need continuous evaluation and adaptation in response to a changing epidemiological environment, emerging infections, novel vaccine developments or scientific insights. Our group supports this knowledge cycle through epidemiological studies of vaccines and their diseases with a primary focus on respiratory infections. To capture all relevant health effects of vaccination programs, our work also covers studies on the interaction between multiple vaccine preventable infections, and the link between vaccines and non-communicable diseases. We apply multiple epidemiological designs including population-based cohort studies, clinical trials, implementation evaluation, healthcare database research and mathematical modeling. Our collaborators include experts in medical microbiology, immunology, data science and mathematical modelling.
