Research aim

We aim to preserve and improve the health of local communities in and beyond the Utrecht region, collaborating with citizens, policymakers, (health)care providers, and other relevant stakeholders.

About us

At PHP, we believe that every individual, regardless of background, has the right to the resources and conditions needed for health and well-being. Health is shaped by socio-ecological systems, and we focus on Public Health through the lens of healthcare to address disparities, improve outcomes, and ensure equitable access to care.

Our research bridges health determinants, healthcare services, and broader socio-ecological contexts. Embedded in real-world settings, we create sustainable interventions while advancing medical education to equip future professionals for emerging healthcare challenges. Through community-centered approaches, we foster health equity, prevent disease, and generate impactful, scalable insights.

We tackle key Public Health challenges such as health inequities, complex healthcare systems, and the need for innovative education. By working with partners like Utrecht municipality, GGD, and academic collaborators, we co-create solutions grounded in trust, informed by diverse expertise, and designed to achieve lasting impact.
