Educating for open science

Education, Open Science

Research aim

We advance Open Science in higher education by developing and evaluating strategies that foster an Open Science mindset and skillset. Using educational design research, we create interventions promoting transparency, accessibility, and collaboration.

About us

Educting for Open Science promotes Open Science principles in higher education. Our mission is to create, implement, and assess educational strategies that cultivate an Open Science mindset and skillset among students and educators. By employing educational design research methodologies, we develop innovative educational interventions that enhance transparency, accessibility, and collaboration in scientific research. Educational Design Research (EDR) merges the iterative development of educational solutions with scientific inquiry. This method enables us to tackle complex educational challenges by designing, testing, and refining strategies in real-world contexts. Our research focuses on producing educational products, processes, and programs that address practical issues and contribute to the broader educational knowledge base. Through our dedication to educational design research and Open Science, we strive to foster a more inclusive and collaborative scientific community. Our goal is to empower the next generation of scientists with the tools and knowledge they need to contribute to a transparent and accessible scientific ecosystem.
