Biography

I am a PhD candidate at the Department of Cardiology, UMC Utrecht under the supervision of Prof. Folkert Asselbergs, Dr. Magdalena Harakalova, and Dr. Frank van Steenbeek. I received my bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University and my master's degree in the Biology of Disease from Utrecht University. During this program, I focused on the study of disease mechanisms and learned to conduct cardiovascular disease-related translational research. My master's internship was focused on the high-throughput quantification of lipid droplets in hiPSC-cardiomyocytes. In continuance with the study of disease mechanisms, I am currently working as part of the CONTRACT grant on the chronological, pathophysiological effects of genetic cardiomyopathies.
