Neurovascular imaging and image guided treatment

Image guided treatment, Imaging, Neurovascular diseases

Research aim

By developing and implementing advanced imaging and AI, we aim to enhance individualized detection, prediction, and minimally invasive treatment of neurovascular disease. This optimizes patient selection, treatment guidance, and clinical outcomes.

About us

The growing burden of neurological problems due to a cardiovascular disease necessitates integrating novel imaging technologies and AI for optimizing individual-level detection, prediction, and image guided treatment and follow-up strategies, to improve clinical outcomes and leading to better long-term health.

Focus areas in our group are:
• Velthuis: heart- brain axis with emphasis on hereditary and acquired cardiomyopathy, gender, lifestyle and atherosclerosis.
• van der Schaaf: Intelligent workflow automation in neurovascular image guided treatment

Our research group thrives on diverse multidisciplinary collaborations and establishing strong connections across various entities. We collaborate with varied clinical partners, the Image Science Institute, the High Precision Structural and Metabolic Imaging Group. Additionally, we maintain strong ties with various Dutch consortia, Technical Universities and engage in public-private partnerships with industry stakeholders.
