We advocate for evidence-based medicine and Cochrane in the Netherlands, supporting authors of (Cochrane) reviews. We produce (commissioned) systematic reviews and evidence syntheses in which we identify, select, appraise, analyze, and synthesize the literature for a specific research question. We also provide methodological advice and training. In collaboration with national and international partners, we perform research on e.g. methods for systematic reviews and other evidence syntheses, evidence-based medicine, and implementation. We can be commissioned for healthcare and methodological questions, both nationally and internationally, including contributions to (para)medical guidelines, policy and government advice, and scientific publications.

Cochrane is an international, independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to help healthcare professionals, policymakers, and patients make informed decisions about healthcare. Cochrane Netherlands is one of the centers worldwide that represents Cochrane’s work. The organization is committed to making up-to-date syntheses on the effectiveness of healthcare accessible in the form of systematic literature reviews (systematic reviews), which are published online in the Cochrane Library. Cochrane has also developed various methodological tools and software to support the conduct of systematic literature reviews.
