Biography

I am a Biomedical Engineer with a B.Sc. degree from Yeditepe University, where I graduated at the first rank in the department with a full scholarship. I completed my M.Sc. degree at Bogazici University, where I developed an innovative Android application for a Bluetooth-enabled urine-analysis device, earning a utility model. My passion for medical diagnostics led me to pursue a Ph.D. at Dokuz Eylul University/Ege University (combined programme) under the mentorship of Prof. Korkut Yegin, focusing on a stretchable textile breast coil design for MRI systems. I was awarded a TUBITAK grant to partially fund my thesis, demonstrating my ability to attract competitive research funding. My exploration of broadband technology in MRI uncovered new diagnostic potential, culminating in a patent for a wearable MR coil. I further expanded my expertise through a TUBITAK-2214A scholarship, conducting advanced research at the Center for Biomedical Imaging in Switzerland on 23Na MRI. We successfully secured a patent out of our research.

Currently, I am involved in designing a triple-tuned body MR coil (MITI-EIC Transition) in 7T High-Field MRI Group at UMC-Utrecht, which is close to completion and I expect to obtain the first scans in humans before the end of this year (2025). Additionally, I’m honored to be the co-author of three accepted grants; SWEATER (NWO-OTP), PRISMA (Eurostars), and CERTAIN-7T (Health Holland).

With a strong foundation in both microwave technology and MRI, I am poised to establish my research line focusing on wireless textile MR coils. I thrive on challenges and am motivated by my passion for medical technology, ensuring that I pursue innovative solutions relentlessly until I achieve my goals.
