Biography

Marielle Emmelot-Vonk is sinds 1 oktober 2012 werkzaam als klinisch geriater bij het UMC Utrecht. In 2009 is zij gepromoveerd op het onderwerp "Testosterone and frailty in elderly men". Sinds 2012 is zij afdelingshoofd geriatrie. In 2018 is zij benoemd tot hoogleraar klinische geriatrie binnen het speerpunt Circulatory Health. Het focus van haar onderzoek betreft de optimalisatie van de zorg en behandeling van (kwetsbare) ouderen met cardiovasculaire problematiek in het ziekenhuis.

Research aim

Our aim is to improve diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for older patients with vascular disease, particularly patients with heart failure or vascular calcifications of the brain. We study optimalisation of pharmacotherapy and advanced therapies.
