Biography

Medical study University Utrecht. Urological training in Jeroen Bosch Hospital Den Bosch and University Medical Center Utrecht. Staff member and urologist in the UMC Utrecht since 2002. PhD (2004): The value of diagnostic procedures in children with lower urinary tract dysfunction. Head since 2013, Tutor since 2016, full professor since May 2018. Inaugural Lecture (March, 2019): ‘Levenslang aangeboren’.

Research aim

Urinary tract symptoms are common and have major impact on quality of life. We focus on the male urethra. Our aim is to generate treatment options by regenerative medicine. Our mission is to create laboratory grown tissue for urethral reconstruction
