Biography

Charisma Hehakaya is an assistant professor in the Global Public Health & Bioethics department of the Julius Centrum.

 

Charisma's interests: bridging the gap between science and society, climate justice, system thinking, improving environmental impact on health and wellbeing, interdisciplinary research, science communication and public engagement.

Charisma has experience with qualitative (such as conceptualising, developing and setting up qualitative interviews and focus groups) and quantitative research methods (such as surveying, early health economic modelling).

Charisma founded the First Generation Fund (het Eerste Generatie Fonds) and University Pioneers Community to support first-generation students.

Research aim

To study cardiovascular risk factors and health outcomes; and develop, implement and scale-up cost-efficient approaches for primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease to promote equity in cardiovascular health globally
