Biography
I am a health service researcher with a passion and longstanding commitment to issues of democratisation, participation and service user involvement in health research and health education. I work in partnership with patients and carers to develop and conduct health research focused on patients’ and relatives’ needs. The unique perspective and knowledge that patients and service users bring to a research project, leads to more relevant research, research of greater quality, and changes it in ways that makes it more effective, efficient, and sustainable. Recently, my research activities are focused on understanding the phenomena of co-produced health research and patient and public involvement in health research and education. I have a particular interest in epistemic practices, and the role of and dynamics between different partners in collaborative health research and health education.
