Biography
Ankie Hazen is assistant professor at the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care, University Medical Center Utrecht the Netherlands. Ankie is lecturer on pharmacotherapy and involved with educational development within the GP specialty training in Utrecht, the Netherlands. She is project lead on the implementation of general practice pharmacists in the Netherlands.
Between 2018-2021, Ankie lived in London and worked as pharmacist independent prescriber at a GP surgery in London and she was an educational supervisor for primary care pharmacists within the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education in England. Ankie obtained her PhD about the training, integration and clinical effects of general practice pharmacists in the Netherlands in January 2018. She also worked as general practice pharmacist in Leidsche Rijn Julius GezondheidsCentrum Vleuterweide, the Netherlands. She was a university teacher within the department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Utrecht, and community pharmacist in the years leading up to her PhD.
Ankie’s research interests focus on the developing clinical role of pharmacists and their role transition into general practice, interprofessional collaboration and education, non-medical prescribing and primary care-based interventions.
