Taking your blood pressure every year should become as normal as an annual visit to the dentist. It is a small effort that can prevent major adverse effects. Together with FC Utrecht, UMC Utrecht gives you the assist, so you can do this annually yourself at home.
Almost 1 in 3 people have high blood pressure without knowing it. For people over 65 this even concerns half of all Dutch people. High blood pressure is one of the risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, such as kidney failure, stroke or heart attack. As a result, nearly 40,000 people die each year in the Netherlands. This is twice a sold-out Stadion Galgenwaard. By regularly measuring your blood pressure, much suffering can be prevented.
“With over 10 million deaths a year, high blood pressure is the leading cause of death worldwide. Often you don’t notice anything about it. The older you get, the more likely you are to develop high blood pressure. It is therefore important to measure your blood pressure annually from the age of 40.” Says Wilko Spiering, Internist-vascular physician at the UMC Utrecht.
FC Utrecht and the UMC Utrecht provide the assist, so you can do this annually yourself at home. Because your health is just as important as the health of our club!
