Abstract submission

You are cordially invited to the 17th edition of the lolaHESG (lowlands Health Economists’ Study Group) conference that will take place on 22-23 May 2025. The conference is organized by RIVM and UMC Utrecht and held at “de Heerlickheijd van Ermelo” in the Netherlands.

Guidelines abstract submission

Authors can submit a maximum of 2 abstracts on unpublished studies. Note that the abstract(s) must be submitted in English and that the studies need to be sufficiently advanced to submit the full paper before the deadline of May 1st, 2025. Please note that submitting an abstract does not equal registration. To attend the conference the registration form and payment must be completed.

Guideline for abstract structure

  • Title of paper: Provide a brief title (maximum 100 characters) that clearly indicates the content of the paper.
  • Author: Provide the name, degree, affiliation, and email address of the principal author of the paper. Note that the principal author will participate in the discussion on the paper during the conference.
  • Co-author(s): Provide the name(s), degree(s), affiliation(s), and email address(es) of the co-author(s) of the paper.
  • Thematic area: Select the thematic area from the list provided in abstract submission form
  • Abstract: Provide maximum relevant information in the abstract (maximum 300 words) using the following structure: objective, methods, results, conclusions.
  • Keywords: Provide 3 keywords for your abstract.

The objective of the lolaHESG conference it to improve unpublished papers. Early-career researchers (PhD students and researchers within 3 years of obtaining their PhD) are, therefore, especially encouraged to submit their abstract(s).

Practical matters

Conference fee

The conference fee of 360 euros includes:

  • Hotel room on Thursday 22 May 2025. An additional night at the hotel can be booked for 21-22 May 2025.
    • This year it is possible to share a hotel room with a colleague. These rooms will have separate beds. If you share a hotel room with a colleague, you will receive a €45 discount each. You both must select this option during registration and provide the name of the colleague you wish to share a room with.
  • On Thursday 22 May 2025: welcome with coffee and tea, lunch, dinner, refreshments between sessions, social drinks, and party.
  • On Friday 23 May 2025: breakfast, lunch, refreshments between sessions, and social drinks at the closing of the conference.

Location

When the hotel capacity in Ermelo is reached, we have arranged an alternative hotel nearby for which transportation will be organized.

Dietary wishes

You can inform the organizing committee about any allergies or dietary wishes in the registration form.

Cancellation and refunds

  • The organizing committee must be informed by email (lola2025@umcutrecht.nl) in case of cancellation.
  • Cancellations must be made known before (and no later than) 1 May 2025: The conference fee minus 30 euros administration fee will be refunded after lolaHESG 2025 has taken place.
  • Cancellation after this date: No refunds will be made.
