The shift from a linear to a circular society is not optional—it’s a necessity. Our current patterns of production and consumption are driving climate change, pollution, biodiversity loss, and growing social inequality. It’s clear we need a different approach. One that is bold, collaborative, and focused on real-world impact.
On 12 June 2025, changemakers from across the Netherlands will gather at the Mauritskazerne in Ede for Co-Creating Solutions for a Circular Society—a full-day conference focused on bold, collaborative approaches to the circular transition.
Organised by the Institute 4 a Circular Society (i4CS), part of the EWUU alliance—a strategic partnership between Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), Wageningen University & Research (WUR), Utrecht University (UU), and University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU)—the event brings together researchers, professionals, policymakers, and community innovators committed to shaping a circular future.
Participants will work on two key themes, in 5 tracks:
Urban-Rural Circularity (URC) – Closing loops between cities and the countryside
Circular Safe Hospitals (CSH) – Rethinking sustainability in healthcare
The day will include transdisciplinary knowledge sessions in the morning, followed by pressure cooker sessions in the afternoon—where participants will develop collaborative project proposals eligible for the i4CS Seed Funding programme.
This conference is more than a moment of dialogue—it’s the beginning of new collaborations with real-world impact. Whether you’re from academia, industry, government, or the social sector, your perspective is essential in shaping a circular future.
Registration is now open.
