Routine care data analytics is the analysis of data that is collected in day-to-day care for patients. Without proper handling, these data are often not suitable for reuse for research purposes.
The Utrecht Patient Oriented Database (UPOD) group has > 20 years expertise in routine care data analytics, which includes both data extraction and analysis. Within our ISO 9001-certified way of working, with a data protection impact assessment (dPIA) as backbone, specific attention is given to the engineering and analysis of meaningful datasets from electronic health records and laboratory information systems. UPOD team members (data managers and data scientists) collaborate with researchers to refine their research question and subsequently make available tailor-made datasets on request. We then collaborate in multidisciplinary teamwork during analysis to guarantee scientifically sound results. Working from the dLAB, UPOD includes specialized knowledge regarding diagnostic data, including a large (>3M samples) dataset of raw hematology data, which closely mimics flow cytometry data.
