MedTech Valorisation: Transforming Ideas into Healthcare Innovations

The MedTech Valorisation Team provides support in the process of MedTech innovation, aiming to improve patient care through implemented technology. We identify opportunities for valorisation and motivate research colleagues to have an innovative mindset and work together toward new devices for healthcare.

With our expertise in product development through co-creation, innovation processes, and public-private partnerships, MedTech-Valorisation is pleased to contribute to the journey from an idea or challenge in the workplace to the market introduction of a medical device. This can be in the form of participation in a Research or Innovation project, by advising on the appropriate steps in the process from idea to implementation according to the Pontes-method, or by finding the right private party for your project.

Driving Innovation: Connecting Research and Collaboration at UMC Utrecht

At the UMC Utrecht, we strive for efficiency and speed in innovation while keeping a close eye on the ever-changing market. We help determine the right innovation route. This could mean that it is efficient to collaborate with a private party at an early stage of development, or that it is wiser to first start a research or innovation project within the UMC Utrecht. We mainly work inside-out; we bring an innovation from the UMC Utrecht to the outside world. Additionally, we sometimes work outside-in; in such cases, we link a private party with their innovation, where possible, to the right researcher in the UMC Utrecht for further co-creation and development of a product.
