We are delighted to announce that 26 researchers have been awarded the prestigious 2024 Starting Grant, each receiving €120,000 to support their innovative projects. Among the recipients is Michael van der Kooij, whose groundbreaking work exemplifies the forward-thinking research celebrated by this grant.
This year, 33 candidates were deemed eligible for the grant, with the selection process carried out through a lottery to ensure fairness. The lottery took place on June 27th in the presence of representatives from early career researchers and the Research Office, with additional steps taken to ensure gender balance among recipients.
The Starting Grant aims to empower researchers in advancing strategic and impactful studies. A reserve list has also been established for the seven non-recipients.
Congratulations to Michael van der Kooij and all the recipients on this significant achievement!
