Project Lead: Patients inclusion

Kim Romijnders

Placing the patient perspective at the forefront of clinical research is essential for advancing inclusive and impactful healthcare solutions. As an expert in health behavior, Kim Romijnders became deeply involved in clinical research with a strong focus on patient inclusion, particularly in infectious disease research. This sparked her passion for understanding the factors that influence trial participation and how research can better align with patients’ experiences and needs.

Kim Romijnders believes that the best clinical research happens when patients are meaningfully involved at every stage, from study design to implementation. By identifying both barriers and opportunities to patient inclusion and participation, she aims to make clinical trials more accessible and inclusive, ultimately improving outcomes for both researchers and patients.

Within U-TRIAL, Kim Romijnders applies her expertise as an implementation researcher to bridge the gap between research and practice. She collaborates with internal and external trial teams to develop strategies that enhance patient inclusion and engagement in clinical studies.
