Biography
Currently, Annemarijn is working as an assistant professor in the research group of Infectious Disease Epidemiology of the Julius Center focusing on the relation of infectious diseases, vaccination, and non-communicable diseases.
In 2018, Annemarijn obtained her medical degree at the University Medical Center Utrecht, after which she took on a PhD position at the Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care. The PhD trajectory resulted in the thesis 'Detection of cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular risk factors in a changing world' which she succesfully defended in September 2021. During her PhD project she worked one day a week as a researcher on the project ‘Cardiovascular Disease: Facts and Figures’ of the Dutch Heart Foundation. Additionally, she combined her PhD trajectory with the Postgraduate Master in Epidemiology at Utrecht University, specializing in clinical epidemiology, for which she obtained her degree in December 2020.
